Harley-Davidson of Greenville’s 17th Annual Toys for Tots Ride

This has become quite a tradition it would seem as there were thousands of motorcyclists who showed up and participated in the Harley-Davidson of Greenville Toys for Tots ride through Simpsonville and Greenville.

I had heard a roar going on outside and wasn’t sure what it was. I went out to our front porch to listen and just couldn’t quite tell. It was an overcast Sunday afternoon and there was definitely some wind blowing but I just couldn’t believe that was the source of the noise. I then was thinking well maybe something BIG is going on at Donaldson Center Airport which is 10 miles away. But that didn’t seem right unless they were doing some military operations out of there.

The noise continued and it got the best of me…I was curious so I jumped in my car and drove in the direction of the noise. As soon as I got to Highway 14 and Five Forks Rd, I could see it was a massive parade of motorcycles that was causing all the noise. I don’t know how many there were but the traffic was stopped for more than 20 minutes as they went by. My guess is thousands. If I see a total published somewhere, I’ll update this post.

Many of the motorcyclists had toys strapped to their handlebars or to the backs of their bikes. It was a great outpouring of support for Toys for Tots. This ride was sponsored by Harley-Davidson of Greenville. I’ve seen then hold other awesome and well attended events in the past. Congrats to all who participated!

BTW, here’s a link to the Facebook event announcement.
