In what has to be one of the coolest new projects in the City of Greenville, the much anticipated Spinx Market is getting closer to reality. The folks at Spinx have requested that the city allow them to operate from 5am until 2am. This will be fantastic and I see no reason why the city should deny this request. The design is spectacular by SHLTR Architects and this kind of convenience store is much needed in this part of town in Greenville’s historic West End.
I was in downtown recently for the Artisphere weekend and walked by where the Spinx Market will be located. This was from Mother’s Day – mid May 2024. It’s in an absolutely killer location.
Last week I needed to be downtown to take some pictures of a building for a property owner who was looking to have a cost segregation study done on his building. As I was walking through the West End of Greenville, I heard the train way down the tracks. It sat there for a while and then seemed to get clearance to come through. I’ve been down to this part of Greenville dozens of times but have never seen an actual train. This was just a delight to see this train come through the West End of Greenville.
The City of Greenville held a public meeting earlier this week where they rolled out the sketches, plans and thinking as they look to the continued redevelopment of the West End. I think it’s very exciting and well thought out. The West End has continued to develop and I think having a plan in place such as this is going to help.
If you don’t have time or interest to take the 90 minutes to watch the video of the public hearing like I did, be sure to read the excellent article published in the Upstate Business Journal about the redevelopment plan for Greenville’s West End.
