The Greenville area continues to attract many newcomers to the area. Known as the Upstate of South Carolina, the area surrounding Greenville, Spartanburg and Anderson and surrounding communities continue to see lots of growth.
The Greenville Area Development Corporation has been helping the Greenville area attract businesses for 20 years. They have helped to put the greater Greenville area on the map. It has become a hub for manufacturing but there is talk as to how to expand to IT and biotech as well as how to bring headquarters to the Upstate. Greenville is a beautiful area. It’s about 60-90 minutes to the mountains and 3.5-4 hours away to the ocean. It’s not too crowded – yet. Home prices and land prices are still reasonable compared to other parts of the country. The workforce is excellent and plenty of universities and colleges in the area to develop and educated workforce. Greenville Technical College does a great job of training and educating many in the area for the skills they need in their jobs.
